First ammendment, yo!

Nancy Pelosi is joining the Justice Department to "weigh the public benefit of saving The Chronicle and other papers from closure against the agency's antitrust mission to guard against anti-competitive behavior."

Goozyquote: "In the carefully worded letter, Pelosi urged the Justice Department to take a broader view of media competition in the Bay Area. Rather than seeing The Chronicle's main competitors as other newspapers, she urged the department to consider television and Internet media sources and online advertising outlets as competitors as part of any future antitrust review."

Hearst Corp., which owns the Chronicle, projects that it will lose more than $50 million this year.

Kiss my fat what?

Yep. Meghan McCain has some pretty harsh words for female talk radio host Laura Ingraham after she moocked the daughter of the Arizona Senator for some weight issue. Even lone conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck sided with Meghan on The View.
Does this incodent really make Ann Coulter look like a saint? What in the world is going on with the Republican party? Sounds like a big soap opera to me: "All this and more on the new CSPAN drama '2012'!"

"Republican" National Chairman?

After all the excitement coming out of the Conservative Political Action Conference about a party that wants to get back to it's roots, this seems to be a "great" start. Damage control time for the Republican Party?
GQ Interview is here.

Controversy?

After eight years of restrictions by the Bush Administration, your federal tax dollars will once again be funding embryonic stem cell research. United Press International has the story here.

Controversial? Maybe...not?

Jesus Henry Christ and Karl Marx

The Hollywood Reporter has the inside scoop on a new movie called "Jesus Henry Christ." Julia Roberts is set to produce the film along with "Fireflies in the Garden" Director Dennis Lee.

The film will follow a boy conceived in a petri dish, raised by his feminist mother, and who follows post-it notes to find his real dad.

The reason behind the "Christ" in the name of the movie isn't clear at this point. Considering the reality that Hollywood is populated by a left-wing ideology, is it any surprise that the hero of the Henry character is Karl Marx?

The political Penn

"You commie, homo-loving sons of guns," Penn began in accepting the prize. "I did not expect this and I want it to be very clear that I do know how hard I make it to appreciate me often."

Sean Penn won Actor of the Year...surprise!!

The Oscars wouldn't be the Oscars without some impassioned political speech from one of its award recipients.

In a backstage interview, he accused Prop 8 advocates of holding a hate card.

At the same time, he also praised the election of an "elegant" President in reference to Barack Obama (even though the President has gone on record in opposition to gay marriage)
